Catherine David graduated with an honours degree in Architecture from Auckland University in 1992. In 2009 she graduated with a Masters degree in "Museums and Cultural Heritage" - a curating degree.
Catherine David started her product design career with a range of soft furnishings and bed linen. A collection of this range has been archived by the Auckland War Memorial Museum, New Zealand.

First design range - bed linen and soft furnishings - combined a striking, clean-cut approach to bedroom style with an affordable high quality of materials and manufacture and became immediately popular with the market.
Selections of Catherine’s original collection were archived by the Auckland Museum when other manufacturers were noted to have adopted this new style.
Catherine’s brand - Catherine David Designs – continues to be a design leader with an expanding range of products which now include lamps, light fittings, tableware and stationery, always eye catching in their originality and presentation.
The shower curtain range won the New Zealand Home and Entertaining Award in 2005 for best bathroom design product.
Catherine David has recently completed post graduate studies achieving an Masters in a curating degree.
In her spare time Catherine is involved in the art of Icon writing with a Russian art teacher.
